The Homes of the Strand
The Strand was platted for a dozen beachfront lots and built out between 1991 and 2002, mostly as four-story houses that stack garages and guest quarters below living floors and put the primary suite at the top of a private elevator, with the pool and spa on the Gulf side of the house. Several original homes have already been taken down and rebuilt as fully custom contemporary estates, and a Strand teardown is never a distressed sale: it is one of the last ways to build a single-family home from the sand up on a Naples beach inside a gate. Homes on double lots run to 9,000 square feet and beyond, with one approaching 16,000, and every one carries a linear stretch of private beach that no tower residence can match.

Living Behind the Second Gate
Strand owners pass through Bay Colony's guarded gate and then their own, and the preserve closes in on the landward sides, so the enclave reads as a private beach rather than a neighborhood. Every home belongs to the Bay Colony Beach Club, the six-court Tennis Club and the Pelican Bay Foundation, which adds nearly three miles of attended beach, two beachfront restaurants and the tram through the mangroves; the Bay Colony Golf Club is available by separate membership. The Ritz-Carlton is next door, Waterside Shops and Artis—Naples are minutes away, and because leasing is effectively prohibited, the street stays an owners' community year-round.
