I almost stayed home to watch TV.
In North Naples, where I live, there was a Thunderstorm approaching, and I'm by no means the smartest man on earth but, I know it's probably not smart to go on a Motorcycle ride during a thunder storm.

However. I had an upcoming "First Service" on my Triumph Thruxton RS scheduled for the next day at Stu's Motorcycles in Fort Myers at 10AM and I needed to reach 600 miles on my odometer in order to "break in" the motorcycle.

I looked at the weather app and noticed the thunderstorm was kind of, mostly, sticking to the main land so if I left immediately I can take a route along the beach and miss the storm. After quickly gathering my gear, I was on the road...
During a hot summer in Naples, Florida I can greatly appreciate the cool wind that comes from an approaching storm, it was actually quite nice as opposed to the scorching heat.
In just over an hour I find myself in Fort Myers Beach having a hard time to keeping my eyes on the road. There is still so much damage from Hurricane Ian but I also can't help having this sense of admiration for the progress that has been made so far.
At this point the sun is starting to set and I cannot decide where I want to stop and take pictures... it seems like every opportunity to pull over makes for an amazing shot.
I pull over at a Beach Access point and I can't believe how beautiful the beach is... fluffy white sand, long stretch of beach leading to a calm sea.
I continue on my journey and as I cruise over the Matanzas Pass and look out over Moss Marina, I witness one of the most Spectacular Sunsets I have ever seen. Don't know if it was the cool wind in the air, my motorcycle rumbling over the bridge, or what... but as a motorcycle enthusiast, it does not get any better than this.
Enjoy.
P.S. - And next time you consider staying home and binging House on TV instead of taking a chance and doing something you love, consider this blog as confirmation that it's worth it.
